New Starter: Jack – Our latest recruit in the Customer Support team

We’ve recently welcomed Jack Newman to the team here at Market Dojo. Jack joins us as a Technical Support Specialist, working alongside Chris to provide our customers and their suppliers with the highest possible level of support. Here’s a quick Q & A with Jack to find out a little more about him.

What made you apply to work at Market Dojo?

I looked to work at Market Dojo for a number of reasons. The key consideration I took was that I was looking to work with a familiar team that had a strong ethos about their employees’ welfare.

What do you do at Market Dojo and how long have you worked there?

I am a Technical Support Specialist and have been with Market Dojo 4 weeks now.

How have you found your time so far at Market Dojo and what have you found interesting?

The openness between all levels within the business, everyone sits amongst each other in the office. No director offices with closed doors, no segregation of teams, all teams are fully integrated into one office which allows for collaboration to thrive and a better hive understanding of the businesses challenges and achievements.

What are you hoping to achieve in your first year?

I’ve heard Market Dojo give away prizes in the form of Lego, once a month to a member of the team who has done something outstanding. I want a Lego figure of myself before the year is over.

Who in your team is most likely to rule the world?

It’s Chris’ world… I now just live in it.

What one thing would you bring to the office if you could? 

My piano to play in my lunch break or maybe my dog from home.

What is the most unusual job you have ever had?

I used to handle horses, clean their stalls and fields… Let’s just say I’m used to dealing with other people’s muck.

What is your favourite book/movie?

Two for one : “The Hobbit” and “Limitless with Bradley Cooper”

What is the most embarrassing song you have on your phone?

Shaddup’a your face by Joe Dolce

What is one thing about yourself that you think others would be surprised to know?

Despite my height and appearance, how much of a child I am.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Creating and listening to music.

What is your biggest claim to fame?

I’m soon to be on Netflix as an extra in a film.

What actor would you cast to play yourself in a movie?

Johnny Depp – Captain Jack style.

Where have you travelled? Favourite place?

Favourite places that I have visited repeatedly have all been in Wales. I love the scenery along the West Coast of Wales: Bangor; Pembrokeshire; Aberystwyth and spend a lot of my time during the summer surfing and messing about along the coast.

What’s on your bucket list?

To have a crack at the Total Wipeout course.
