Our first Market Dojo roadshow of 2018 had a fantastic kick off at Hotel Football in Manchester this week. It was great to see some new faces as well as existing clients and provide an insight on what value eAuctions can bring to procurement teams.
Despite the Manchester mayhem of roadworks, everyone made the 10 am start in good time for breakfast. We followed shortly with a presentation by our two directors, Alun Rafique and Nick Drewe to give an overview of market dojo and eAuctions, challenging some common misconceptions!
The day followed the same agenda as our previous roadshow last year in Birmingham, with more emphasis on the performance of eAuctions. Our Customer Success Manager, Lewis Barnard presented our recent findings and conclusions on how to run an effective cost reduction eAuction. You can find his presentation here.
Our fantastic guest presenter Norah Cronin, flew in from Ireland to give a great presentation on how our eAuction tool has been used at Ideea. Ideea is a consultancy that was one of our first clients, so was great to have Norah there on the day to show how versatile our tool can be, with not just procurement teams but consultancies too.
Ideea has recently been working to enable collaboration between procurement professionals on an online forum. For example, to discuss categories to eAuction, best techniques and supplier pools. A big thank you to Norah, you can connect with Norah on LinkedIn here.
After lunch, we finished with our famous eAuction game and a Q&A. The game showed some interesting insights to our guests into how suppliers might behave during an eAuction and also provided us with excellent and honest feedback for our tool.
The game was a great success – Well done to our winning team who won a bunch of easter eggs just in time for the weekend!
